At SMN, we use the BIOBOAT process to remove layers of antifouling from your hull.
Thanks to this system, we strip the hull without damaging the gelcoat.
A light sanding removes the last traces of paint and ensures optimal adhesion for the primer coat.
All small cavities revealed during preparation are filled with epoxy and sanded.
Depending on the hull’s humidity level, a preventive osmosis treatment may be applied. This consists of two coats of epoxy primer, which also ensure excellent adhesion for the antifouling paint.
For antifouling, SMN uses the following products:
HEMPEL, NAUTIX, BOERO, INTERNATIONAL VC SYSTEM (VC17 and VC OFFSHORE).
We apply the antifouling with a spray gun to avoid build-up over the years while preserving the boat’s glide efficiency.
A well-maintained glide guarantees faster navigation and up to 10% fuel savings.
Other antifouling products can be applied upon request.
In every case, you’ll leave with a hull that looks like new.
The Bioboat process removes old antifouling layers using extruded wheat blasting, without compromising the gelcoat.
Every year, over 600 hull services are carried out at our Port-Grimaud and Cogolin yards, with full respect for environmental standards.
Our launching basin accommodates all types of boats, up to 5m wide and with a 2.80m draft.
Our two WISE Travelifts (27 and 40 tons) ensure safe boat handling out of the water.
Before the hull service, your boat is placed in a high-pressure wash bay. The wastewater is collected and treated in lamella separator tanks before being discharged into the port. All our infrastructure complies with current environmental regulations. Any remaining fouling is sanded and vacuumed before painting the hull.
We offer three antifouling application methods: spray, brush, or roller, in one or two coats. SMN distributes all major antifouling brands (HEMPEL, INTERNATIONAL, VC SYSTEM, NAUTIX, BOERO) but can also apply a product of your choice.
