Over more than sixty years, SMN Chantier Naval de Port Grimaud has acquired a wealth of experience in all sectors of the yachting industry, which it puts at the service of its customers on a daily basis.
+ About us
François Spoerry, creator of Port Grimaud in the 60s, saw his project as a “real” village turned towards the sea, with a life of its own. A full-service shipyard for sail and powerboat owners was an obvious choice. As early as 1965, Société de Manutention Navale (SMN) began developing its facilities to serve its customers. True professionals of the sea were in charge of a complete service, from the sale and delivery of new boats to the most reputable shipyards, to dry and afloat storage, maintenance, repairs and the supply of equipment. Over the years, SMN's reputation has spread throughout the Mediterranean basin, and several prestigious brands have made it their base for finishing, launching and servicing their customers' boats.

After a successful sales career with one of France's most prestigious shipyards, Patrick Lecomte (55) took over the helm of SMN in 2002. More than a pure nautical technician, this salesman understood that the primary objective of a successful company was customer service. And that the way to achieve this was to surround himself with a team of competent, reliable technicians who loved a job well done. “To enjoy the pleasures of the sea to the full, you not only need a beautiful boat, but above all you need to be able to have real confidence in those to whom its delivery, maintenance, repairs and improvements are entrusted over the years”. That's why, at SMN, each customer is guided by a project manager who knows him, his boat and the work to be carried out. This ensures real follow-up and satisfaction.

SMN's 35 employees have some 500 years' experience in all areas of the yachting industry. This experience is put at the disposal of our customers to provide them with a service that meets their expectations.
The yard has a deep-water dock at the heart of the splendid Port-Grimaud, at the head of the Gulf of St Tropez, accessible in all weathers. 24 berths afloat offer easy access and protected living. A vast berthing and careening area, equipped with 2 powerful travel lifts capable of safely handling monohulls and multihulls up to 40 tons. Onshore storage areas, one of 5,400 m² enclosed and the other of 2,000 m² under hangar.
The store stocks all the usual products and equipment, and has direct contact with suppliers for rapid delivery. The mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, composite and paint workshops are able to carry out all types of work and install or replace all types of equipment. Last but not least, SMN offers its customers an in-depth diagnostic and refit service for their boats, to help them regain the confidence they should inspire in their owners. Each project is assigned to a project manager, who manages the entire project and communicates directly with the customer.

An à la carte service takes care of all our customers' needs to ensure the availability and maintenance of their boat at their own berth. A concierge service to ensure your boat is ready to go and ready to welcome you.
SMN also offers a multi-brand commercial service:
Importer of Hallberg Rassy sailboats for France;
Representing Solaris, Dehler, Black Pepper, Privilège, Targa, Brig and Sessa Marine, among others.
And, of course, trading in pre-owned boats, which can be refitted to customer specifications.
SMN is well aware that its customers are very demanding, and is able to offer them a warm welcome and take charge of their entire sailing project.

SMN uses the BIOBOAT process to remove antifouling from your hull. With this system, we strip the hull without damaging the gelcoat. Light sanding removes the last traces of paint, and creates a good grip for the undercoat.
